This week’s post is in regards to Smith Mountain Lake State Park and trying to finish up the portion of Striper Trail that is quite frankly, out of the way of the rest of the trail. We started with one of our favorites of Walton Creek Trail, had a break at the parking lot, and crossed over the road to make a loop out of Striper Trail.

Striper Cove after land maintenance and tree removal.
Our path as we made a “loop” of the two trails.

What was amazing was walking through the high fields and feeling like I was in Skyrim:

While the Walton Creek portion that we did was not overly challenging, the fields/forest area of the Striper Cove was a bit more difficult. Overall, not bad however. I would imagine that my 60 year old mother would have had a bit of a challenge going up and down the hills.
