The description for this series will be brief mostly because this is the first book in the series and from what I can tell one of her first book Trish McCallan has written (at least in Amazon). I was trying to find a new series to read and ran through my Kindle Recommendations and found that Forged in Fire, by Trish McCallan was a recommended read. Ms. McCallan is a self-published author and this book, is an example of when “self-published” is not synonymous with poor writing and bad copy-editing. This is an example of me finding an author, taking a chance and being very pleased and excited about future reads.
The basic world
Again, this will be brief because the only background I have to go by is from the body of the first book. It looks to me that this will surround the unit of Seal Team 7. I will make the assumption that after she goes through all of these characters we will branch out to other teams.
What I like about this set-up is that while the first book has a conclusion, there is an obvious series plot that I could see at last two, if not three books already set-up. This is a very fast paced book; I can only imagine that the rest of the series will be in similar fashion.
I would normally say that this type of book is not paranormal, but in this case, at least the first book deals with both a psychic romantic connection, as well as dreaming future events. I did not get the impression that the other characters had any “whoo whoo” skills of their own, so maybe that is only in this first book. Although to be honest, it was my favorite aspect of Forged in Fire. The first book mention brothers of Zane, so I am hopping for more “whoo whoo” with them if we get their stories.
I imagine that I will update this series page as more books are added, so stay tuned.
